Origin & History
As its name suggests, the Morab is a deliberate cross between the Morgan and the Arabian, combining traits of both foundation breeds. Though crosses of the two breeds occurred informally for generations, a dedicated Morab registry was established in the 1970s to recognize it as its own type.
Appearance
Morabs typically combine the Arabian's refined head and the Morgan's compact, muscular build, resulting in an elegant yet sturdy horse in a wide range of colors.
Temperament
Intelligent and versatile, Morabs draw on both parent breeds' cooperative, willing nature, making them adaptable to a wide range of riding disciplines.
The Morab is one of relatively few breeds developed from a deliberate, targeted cross of exactly two parent breeds rather than a broader blend.
Common Uses
Trail riding, pleasure riding, and light show competition.
